FAQ

Q1:

Why are volunteers doing this?

We’ve got many technology inspired members, working with telecommunications in their leisure time. They asked themselves: Why don’t do anything helpful with my knowledge and equipment? And then, they founded LEMCIT.

Q2:

Why is this site written in english?

English is the most common language in radio communications, especially when communicating over country borders. All our members are native Luxemburgish speakers.

Q3:

What means resource-oriented?

The association reacts according to the specific situation in dispatching the needed resources. Our partners, well-established in their fields of activity, provide important resources to LEMCIT which will be brought to those in need.

Q4:

Who can use LEMCIT’s services ?

Outside of an emergency situation, the resources can be used internally by our partners. Other associations are also requesting some of our resources. Most of them are non-profit associations.

In case of a disaster or another emergency situation, our intention is to aid with our resources and services wherever needed. This could for instance be in a specific area in the country or a countrywide transmission of information at the request of our partners, LEMCIT itself, other associations, local authorities or even state institutions.
